Born in St. Paul, Minnesota and moved to San Diego, as an infant, Bill has grown up by the ocean and always had a love of the water and its inhabitants. From swimming in it, surfing on it or scuba diving below it, he has always considered the ocean to be the most beautiful place on earth. After graduating from high school, he joined the U.S. Marine Corps and traveled the western pacific which is where he discovered the tropical sea for the first time. He was amazed at the warm water, colorful fish and abundant aquatic life and was instantly hooked. Bill’s passion is bringing the ocean scenery to life through his paintings and he enjoys being the catalyst in creating the emotions that can cause people to pause and say, ‘WOW’. He paints his oceanic art on many sizes of canvases from small to live size and his work has been in several shows. He feels like he has spent several years of his life in a wetsuit and plans on spending plenty more as time and vacations permit. For now, he is happy to live in San Diego, concentrate on the creation of his art and spend as much time in the water as possible.
